Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a high-profile regeneration programme in Tendring, Essex. The role focuses on driving projects from planning through to delivery while engaging with senior stakeholders across public, private and voluntary sectors.

The position involves managing multiple regeneration projects, ensuring milestones, budgets and governance are in place, with a hybrid working pattern requiring minimum two days in the office.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ARB or similar built-environment qualification.
• Significant experience delivering regeneration, infrastructure, town centre renewal, economic growth or capital projects.
• Strong programme and project management skills, including budget, governance and risk management.
• Experience producing reports and presenting to senior officers, elected Members and external partners.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build collaborative relationships across multiple organisations.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors and external delivery partners.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multiple regeneration and place-shaping projects funded through the Community Regeneration Partnership Programme.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring milestones, budgets, risks and governance requirements are effectively controlled.
• Produce and present monthly programme updates and highlight reports to Project Boards and senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with funding agreements, grant conditions and audit requirements.
• Prepare reports, briefings and decision papers for Cabinet, Committees, senior officers and elected Members.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, delivery partners, consultants, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Monitor project expenditure and support financial management alongside senior finance colleagues.
• Proactively identify programme risks and implement mitigation measures to maintain project delivery.
