Overview of role

Our transportation portfolio primarily operates in the UK, focusing on rail, highways, and aviation. We deliver programme, project, and commercial management services to clients across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, and Australasia, supporting other parts of our transportation business globally. Our vision is to deliver major transportation projects as part of a global business and to establish our consultancy as a credible and preferred provider in the ports sector.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for successfully delivering various projects, from internal multidisciplinary teams to external client secondments. We aim to deliver excellence and be the first choice for PPCM in ports.

Opportunities for cross-sector work include rail, highways, and energy projects.

Main duties
  • Manage development, design, delivery, and handover of projects, ensuring adherence to processes, procedures, and governance protocols.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans.
  • Scope projects according to objectives.
  • Identify and execute deliverables.
  • Achieve key parameters of cost, time, and quality, with realistic action plans.
  • Coordinate with H&S&W and CDM representatives to ensure compliance.
  • Establish effective stakeholder and communication processes, including mapping and managing project influencers and statutory bodies.
  • Collaborate with commercial, procurement, and control functions to deliver projects within parameters.
  • Assess and ensure resource and competence levels in the supply chain.
  • Administer NEC contracts to ensure successful outcomes.
Candidate Specification
  • Degree in project management or relevant experience.
  • Membership of APM, CIOB, or RICS.
  • Significant project management experience, preferably in ports.
  • Understanding of contracts, including NEC.
  • Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Commercial acumen and knowledge of planning and controls.
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment.
