Overview of role

Our transportation portfolio is primarily UK-based, working in rail, highways, and aviation sectors. We deliver programme, project, and commercial management services to clients in Europe, Africa, Middle East, India, and Australasia, supporting other parts of the transportation business globally. Our vision is to deliver major transportation projects as part of a global business and to establish our consultancy as credible and trusted for our clients.

As Project Manager, you will be accountable for successfully delivering a variety of projects, from internal multidisciplinary teams to external client secondments. Our goal is to deliver excellence and be the first choice provider of PPCM in the ports sector.

We encourage cross-sector opportunities to expand knowledge and experience, including work on rail, highways, and energy projects.

Main duties
  • Manage development, design, delivery, and handover of projects, ensuring adherence to processes, procedures, and governance protocols.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans.
  • Scope projects according to objectives.
  • Identify and execute deliverables.
  • Achieve parameters of cost, time, and quality, developing realistic action plans.
  • Coordinate with H&S&W and CDM representatives to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Establish effective stakeholder and communication management processes.
  • Manage relationships with statutory and technical assurance bodies.
  • Work across commercial, procurement, and project control functions to deliver within parameters.
  • Assess and ensure resource and competence levels in supply chains.
  • Administer NEC contracts for professional and contractor engagements.
Candidate Specification
  • Degree in project management or relevant experience.
  • Membership of APM, CIOB, or RICS.
  • Substantial project management experience, preferably in ports.
  • Understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Commercial acumen and knowledge of planning and controls.
  • Ability to create a positive work environment.
