Overview of role

Our transportation portfolio is primarily a UK-based business working in rail, highways, and aviation. We deliver programme, project, and commercial management services to clients worldwide, supporting other parts of the transportation sector globally. Our vision is to deliver major transportation projects as part of a global business and to establish our consultancy as a credible and leading provider for our clients.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for successfully delivering a variety of projects, from internal multidisciplinary teams to external client secondments. Our goal is to deliver excellence and be the first choice provider of PPCM in the ports sector.

We encourage cross-sector opportunities to expand knowledge and experience, including work on rail, highways, and energy projects.

Main duties

The successful management of development, design, delivery, and handover of projects, ensuring:

  • Processes and procedures are applied, and governance protocols are followed
  • A project management plan is developed and maintained for each project
  • Projects are scoped according to objectives
  • Deliverables are clearly identified and executed
  • Cost, time, and quality parameters are achieved with realistic plans
  • Liaise with H&S&W and CDM representatives to ensure compliance
  • Establish effective stakeholder and communication management processes
  • Work across commercial, procurement, and project control functions
  • Assess and manage resources and competence in supply chains
  • Administer NEC contracts effectively to ensure successful outcomes
Candidate Specification
  • Degree in project management or relevant experience
  • Membership of APM, CIOB, or RICS
  • Significant project management experience, ideally in ports
  • Knowledge of contract administration, including NEC
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commercial acumen and project controls knowledge
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment
