Role Details: Project Manager – Pharmaceutical Project, Irvine Based

Altrad is currently expanding due to project successes within our Major Projects business across the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industries. We are looking to recruit a Project Manager with a proven track record in the Process industry, capable of executing multidisciplined projects from inception through completion, ideally in process manufacturing, process equipment, and containment, not necessarily in a Pharmaceutical environment.

This role is based at our client site in Irvine, Scotland, on a full-time basis, working as part of an integrated project team to ensure successful delivery.

Key Deliverables:
  1. Management and coordination of design delivery to meet project requirements and schedule milestones.
  2. Project management of work scope ensuring delivery within budget and schedule, and compliance with technical requirements.
  3. Management of multi-discipline EPC or client projects from inception to completion.
  4. Definition of baseline scope, programs, and strategies for delivery in accordance with client and Altrad procedures.
  5. Preparation of the Project Execution Plan and management of project estimates, costs, and reports.
  6. Delivery of projects aligned with policies and processes, ensuring clear communication among all parties.
  7. Management of project schedules and regular updates.
  8. Preparation and delivery of client procedural documents supporting project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from client handover through to final completion as part of an integrated site team.
  • Ensure engineering delivery on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate responses to site and vendor queries.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering projects on time, to specification, and quality standards.
  • Act as the point of contact between the company and client.
  • Manage project budgets and approve expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with quality policies and project-specific requirements.
  • Communicate roles and responsibilities clearly to team members and contractors.
  • Identify and manage project risks to minimize financial exposure.
  • Maintain transparent project reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster ethical and cooperative relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
Key Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing in a process industry, including hazardous sites and COMAH regulations.
  • Experience working on-site and collaborating with manufacturing teams.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience leading multidiscipline design teams within the process sector.
  • Experience managing full project lifecycles, including feasibility, FEED, detailed design, and execution phases, preferably via EPC/EPCM.
  • Proven track record in managing small to medium-sized multidisciplinary process and infrastructure projects.
  • Site management experience in construction, plant, and services installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Experience working within a project portfolio environment.
