Project Manager – Engineering & Automation Projects (Open to Juniors with Production/Manufacturing Experience)
Experience Level: 2–3 Years (ideal for those stepping into PM)

About the Role:

We are working with a well-established specialist in process automation and bespoke engineering solutions serving industries such as Water Treatment, Food Production, Recycling, and Quarrying. Due to continued growth and internal innovation, we are seeking an ambitious Project Manager to support automation and manufacturing-focused projects. This is a standout opportunity for an individual with 2–3 years’ experience in a technical engineering or production role who wants to progress into project management. Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engineering and automation projects across the manufacturing lifecycle

  • Coordinate resources across departments including Design, Production, Quality, and Procurement

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution

  • Improve internal project delivery methods and documentation, including BoMs, Work Instructions, and Change Notices

  • Support engineering design reviews and identify opportunities for cost or efficiency improvements

  • Track project timelines, budgets, and risks; report regularly to senior leadership

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians as needed

About You:

You might currently be a Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Project Coordinator in a manufacturing environment – and you’re now ready to take the lead.

Ideal Background:

  • 2+ years in a technical or manufacturing-based engineering role

  • Hands-on understanding of production, lean manufacturing, or automation systems.

  • Comfortable communicating across disciplines (design, software, maintenance, etc.)

  • Experience interpreting technical documentation (BoMs, CAD drawings, work instructions)

  • Strong organisational skills and a genuine interest in project delivery and improvement

  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is beneficial but not essential.
