Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to make a national impact?

Join NHS Wales at the heart of digital transformation. Building on recent investments in healthcare technology, this opportunity is within a pioneering department responsible for delivering large-scale, high-impact programmes that shape the future of patient care across Wales.

About the Role

You’ll take over an in-flight project aimed at enabling Community Pharmacists’ access to the Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP) — a critical move in supporting the safe prescribing of Sodium Valproate for women of childbearing age.

This is a technical proof of concept project, requiring coordination across digital systems, clinical governance, and multi-agency stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver national-scale digital projects with complex technical and clinical elements
  • Engage directly with clinicians, pharmacists, and programme teams to ensure successful rollout
  • Oversee project governance, RAID management, timelines, and reporting
  • Support programme boards, manage communications, and brief key leaders
  • Ensure operational readiness, service transition, and post-project evaluation
  • Guide and supervise the input of project support and administrators

What You’ll Need

  • Strong project management experience in healthcare, digital, or government settings
  • Expertise in project planning, delivery, and assurance (PRINCE2 Agile preferred)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing risk, cost, quality, and performance metrics
  • Ability to interpret data, write reports, and influence change
  • Familiarity with NHS Wales or wider health systems
  • Understanding of the regulatory and strategic healthcare landscape in Wales
