Job Description:

? Contract: 3 months (rolling)

Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to make a national impact?

Join NHS Wales at the heart of digital transformation. Building on recent investments in healthcare technology, this opportunity sits within a pioneering department responsible for delivering large-scale, high-impact programmes that shape the future of patient care across Wales.

? About the Role

You’ll take over an in-flight project aimed at enabling Community Pharmacists’ access to the Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP) — a critical move in supporting the safe prescribing of Sodium Valproate for women of childbearing age.

This is a technical proof of concept project, requiring coordination across digital systems, clinical governance, and multi-agency stakeholders.

? Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver national-scale digital projects with complex technical and clinical elements
  • Engage directly with clinicians, pharmacists, and programme teams to ensure successful rollout
  • Oversee project governance, RAID management, timelines, and reporting
  • Support programme boards, manage communications and brief key leaders
  • Ensure operational readiness, service transition and post-project evaluation
  • Guide and supervise the input of project support and administrators

What You’ll Need

  • Strong project management experience in healthcare, digital, or government settings
  • Expertise in project planning, delivery and assurance (PRINCE2 Agile preferred)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing risk, cost, quality and performance metrics
  • Ability to interpret data, write reports, and influence change
  • Familiarity with NHS Wales or wider health systems
  • Understanding of the regulatory and strategic healthcare landscape in Wales

? Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Practical project delivery experience across digital/clinical environments

Be part of something bigger — help modernise how care is delivered in Wales.

? Apply now to join a vital mission improving health services at scale.
