Job description

MCS Group is proud to support our client in the recruitment of a Project Manager (Networks) based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading organisation driving change in Northern Ireland's evolving energy sector.

Join us as we shape the future of Northern Ireland's electricity transmission system and drive the transition to a low-carbon energy future. As a key member of our Networks team, you'll lead major high-voltage infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery, working with engineering, environmental, stakeholder, and commercial teams to ensure safe and successful outcomes.

This role combines office-based and on-site work, managing project approvals, stakeholder engagement, budgets, and timelines.

The successful candidate will have

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with at least 2 years' experience managing infrastructure projects
  • Effective communicator with strong report writing skills
  • Organised and proactive, with ability to coordinate others
  • Full, clean driving licence with access to a car
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Proven project management experience with tight deadlines
  • Strong analysis, judgement, and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability and flexible working approach
  • Ability to guide and influence others
  • Experience introducing innovative solutions
  • Strong teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

It would be highly desirable if you have:

  • Postgraduate qualification in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience in environmental planning or consulting on infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of budget management and CDM regulations
  • Experience in energy/utilities or regulated environments
  • Understanding of TSO activities and the power system (generation, demand, new technologies)
  • Awareness of the commercial and technical aspects of the electricity industry
