Experienced Project/Program Manager for Plant Engineering Projects (UK)
We are seeking an experienced Project/Program Manager to oversee and manage plant engineering projects in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading engineering projects and managing senior-level customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage single or multiple plant engineering projects from initiation to completion.
- Manage contractual obligations related to design, including NEC contracts.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations and standards in the UK.
- Manage relationships with senior-level customers.
- Develop and maintain a network of local engineering partners.
- Monitor project performance and progress against time, cost, quality, and environmental standards.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Lead teams of professionals delivering major projects or portfolios of smaller projects.
- Support project development during the early stages of the project lifecycle with technical and commercial disciplines.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, clarify requirements, and maintain involvement in key decisions.
Qualifications
- A degree or similar qualification in engineering or project management.
- A relevant professional qualification with APM, PMI, RICS, or similar.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership with a relevant body (e.g., APM, CIWEM, ICE, CIOB, RICS).
- Proven track record of delivering engineering projects in a similar role with several years of experience.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to unexpected events and develop creative solutions.
- Ability to achieve key targets within resource limits.
- Experience managing NEC contracts or similar arrangements.
- Skills in cost, schedule, H&S, change, and risk management.
Preferred but Not Essential
- Experience working in a client organization in a lead delivery role.
- NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
