Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding career at the forefront of project development, where you can make a real difference? Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the UK's largest megaprojects, supporting the nation's climate change goals and energy policy. The SZC Project is a new nuclear build in Suffolk, with planning approval and government support, aiming to provide reliable electricity for 6 million homes for 60 years, contributing to the UK’s Net Zero by 2050.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to support our Mechanical Electrical HVAC Alliance (MEHA).

Our teams work flexibly, combining office and home-based work, with full IT support provided.

About the Role

You will lead the formation and development of the MEH Alliance, overseeing engineering, procurement, and manufacturing activities. Your goal will be to de-risk the Final Investment Decision (FID) by replicating Hinkley Point C’s detailed design. You will act as a liaison between the MEH Alliance and the SZC team, ensuring collaboration and alignment with project objectives. Reporting to the SZC MEH client team, you will support project oversight, performance management, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in design, procurement, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, Nuclear Island, and Balance of Plant contracts.
  • Oversee MEH Alliance activities to meet specifications, schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align engineering strategies, risk assessments, and project goals.
  • Drive innovation and problem-solving to safeguard project schedules.
  • Manage contracts, including cost and schedule assessments, variations, and procurement activities.
  • Apply lessons learned from Hinkley Point C to improve SZC project outcomes.
  • Support post-FID contract development, managing complex contractual requirements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven success in managing large, multi-disciplinary engineering and procurement projects.
  • Expertise in mechanical, electrical, process, and systems engineering, with understanding of infrastructure project complexities.
  • Experience in procurement, contract management, and risk analysis, familiar with Earned Value Management (EVM) tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage stakeholders.
  • Technical oversight ability, ensuring compliance with standards and driving innovative solutions.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in the nuclear sector or large-scale energy projects.
  • Chartered Engineer or project management qualification.
  • Experience in procurement of industrial equipment contracts in power generation.
About the Sizewell C Project

Sizewell C is part of EDF Energy's strategy for a low-carbon future, developing a new nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast. Building on lessons from Hinkley Point C, the project aims to ensure a reliable, sustainable energy supply for future generations.

Why Join Us?
  • Contribute to a landmark project powering the UK’s future and reducing carbon emissions.
  • Work in an innovative, adaptive environment encouraging problem-solving and new ideas.
  • Join a diverse, inclusive team committed to equality and opportunity.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements, benefits, and a supportive work culture.
