Managing the delivery of New Stores, Refurbishment and Acquisition Projects

This role involves managing projects to support JD Sports Fashion PLC Group Expansion Programme, focusing on new openings, extensions, and refits within the UK and Ireland across all group fascias. It aims to drive store standards to a market-leading level.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management: Report to the Senior Project Manager UK & Ireland, liaise with the Property department, and manage the end-to-end project cycle for new stores, re-fits, and extensions, coordinating with designers, project teams, and contractors.
  2. Budget Control: Develop, monitor, and control the capital budget for each project.
  3. Health & Safety: Collaborate with Group health and safety specialists to ensure compliance with best practices.
  4. Team Support: Work with the wider project team to deliver progress reports, proposals, and documentation.
  5. Process Improvement: Continually review and improve project and design processes.
  6. Risk Management: Manage project scope changes, identify risks, and develop contingency plans.
  7. Team Motivation: Motivate and liaise with team members and contractors, fostering accountability.
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:
  1. Construction/Retail Fit Out Experience: Knowledge of shop fit industry, project management, and managing projects within strict budgets.
  2. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on budget and schedule.
  3. Communication Skills: Effective communication and influencing skills across stakeholders and departments.
  4. Attention to Detail: Numerate with strong attention to detail.
  5. Qualifications: University degree or college diploma in Project Management or equivalent experience.
  6. Mobility: Field-based role requiring geographic mobility across the UK and Ireland.
  7. Additional Skills: Self-motivated team player, technically competent with software, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to react promptly to project changes.
  8. Travel: Extensive travel and periods away from home may be required.
