The Project Manager - Interior Renovations, Workplace Planning role focuses on the construction delivery and implementation of Northern Trust's workplace strategy, ensuring all user and corporate requirements are met.

The position is based in London but supports projects across EMEA and APAC.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing pre-design, design, construction, and commissioning services within budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Leading projects from an internal client perspective, coordinating stakeholders such as facilities management, global engineering, security, IT, communications, and change management.
  • Controlling project costs, schedules, and quality assurance from design through closeout.
  • Identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Ensuring projects adhere to scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Maintaining records and preparing reports and presentations.
  • Leading project teams, including technical staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and internal teams during scope development and scheduling.
  • Handling punch lists and project closeouts timely and according to policies.
  • Reviewing and approving project payments and monitoring invoice compliance.
  • Ensuring permits and design approvals are obtained.
  • Guiding the selection of design professionals and contractors, including scope preparation and evaluation.
  • Managing project finances, including scope, funding, and cash flow.
  • Tracking critical milestones and reviewing proposals and pricing.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Experience in project financial management, negotiations, and value engineering.
  • Ability to review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing teams and multiple deliverables.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including report creation.
  • Coordination skills with various departments and external agencies.
  • Self-motivation, proactivity, and client focus.
  • Deep knowledge of project management, cost control, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Understanding of facilities implications and execution.
  • Extensive experience in interior construction project management, preferably with external qualifications.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and budget.
  • Financial management experience with typical project size around USD $3MM.
  • RFP and contract negotiation experience.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of LEED or BREEAM is a plus.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Interior Design, or Architectural Design is advantageous.
