Baxter is seeking an innovative and technically adept Project Manager to join our EMEA Projects & Transformation Team within our aseptic pharmaceutical Compounding business. This role requires a professional who is receptive to change, risk-aware and capable of technology evaluation, developing and delivering projects for new technologies that will transform our business. These technologies will include but not limited to novel engineering technologies, automation, vision systems, predictive analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced digital tools.

The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing, validating, and integrating emerging technologies to enhance compliance, efficiency, and business transformation. We are seeking individuals who have experience of balancing creative innovation with risk management, ensuring that new approaches are robust and meet both regulatory expectations and business objectives.

This role can be based in any of our compounding sites (Thetford, Oxford, Stockport or Croydon).

Key Responsibilities
Technology Exploration & Adoption
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies that have the potential to transform aseptic manufacturing, validation processes, and compliance frameworks.
  • Identify high-value, high-impact opportunities for technology integration, including conducting proof-of-concept studies, technology trials, and pilot activities to assess functionality, compliance, and business benefits before robust full-scale implementation.
  • Drive cultural change within the organization by promoting innovation, digital adoption, and a forward-thinking mindset in teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, manufacturing, regulatory, and quality assurance, to validate new technologies and ensure seamless integration into existing processes.
Project and Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks in project execution and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies related to aseptic manufacturing.
  • Performance Monitoring, track project progress and performance metrics, adjusting plans as agreed to meet objectives.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and report on status to senior management.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new technologies, ensuring their safe and compliant integration into existing manufacturing processes.
  • Balance innovation with risk management, ensuring that new approaches meet both regulatory expectations and business objectives.
Business Case Development & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and present compelling business cases for new technologies, demonstrating their impact on cost efficiency, compliance enhancement, and operational excellence.
  • Work cross-functionally with BAU engineering, validation, operations, IT and quality teams to implement technological innovations.
  • Communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across departments.
Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex systems and determine where technological advancements can provide business value.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GAMP 5, data integrity principles, and regulatory frameworks governing validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
Soft Skills & Mindset
  • Commitment to delivery even in a changing environment.
  • Receptive to change, with a strong ability to adapt and drive through technological advancements.
  • A strategic thinker who can respectfully challenge traditional approaches and propose innovative yet compliant solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Risk-aware but not risk-averse, with the ability to balance innovation with compliance and operational safety.

If you are passionate about engineering innovation, validation, and technology adoption in the pharmaceutical industry, we invite you to apply and be a key driver of transformational change in our company.
