Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead fit out projects from mobilisation to handover from our Whitstable office in Kent. You will coordinate clients, subcontractors and site teams, delivering programmes on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

The role requires strong IT, administration and reporting skills, with experience writing construction programmes and using Smartsheet.

Project Manager - Fit Out

The Opportunity

Hill McGlynn are currently working with an established construction and fit out contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their team, based from their Whitstable office.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the management and delivery of fit out projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, site teams and the wider business to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and commercial expectations.

Alongside strong construction and project management experience, this position requires someone with excellent IT, administration and project reporting skills. You will be expected to maintain accurate project documentation, programmes and progress information throughout the delivery process.

Experience working with progress sheets, Smartsheet and writing construction programmes would be a significant advantage.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for fit out projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover.

You will combine strong operational project management with a structured approach to administration, programming and reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing fit out projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Taking responsibility for programme, quality, Health & Safety and overall project delivery.
• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Preparing, maintaining and updating construction programmes.
• Monitoring project progress against agreed programmes and key milestones.
• Producing and maintaining detailed progress sheets and project trackers.
• Using project management and reporting systems to maintain accurate project information.
• Liaising closely with clients and providing regular updates on project progress.
• Attending and leading client, subcontractor and project meetings.
• Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring works are completed to the required standards.
• Coordinating labour, materials and project resources.
• Identifying programme risks, delays and potential issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Working closely with commercial and operational teams throughout project delivery.
• Maintaining accurate project records, reports and documentation.
• Managing variations and changes alongside the commercial team.
• Ensuring all works comply with company Health & Safety procedures and relevant legislation.
• Managing snagging, completion and handover processes.
• Ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard while maintaining strong client relationships.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong understanding of fit out project delivery who is also highly organised and confident managing the administrative and reporting requirements of construction projects.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a Project Manager within construction and/or fit out.
• Strong experience managing projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Excellent IT skills and a high level of administrative ability.
• Strong project reporting and documentation skills.
• Experience preparing and maintaining project progress sheets and trackers.
• Experience using Smartsheet would be advantageous.
• Experience writing and updating construction programmes would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction programming and project sequencing.
• Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
• Good knowledge of construction Health & Safety requirements.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate project information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the financial considerations involved in project delivery.
