Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Development Manager to lead projects in the Energy sector. This role involves managing pre-construction phases, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in project management, preferably with experience in High Voltage and Utilities projects as well as NEC contracts.

You will be responsible for leading and developing multiple projects within our energy business unit, particularly during the pre-construction phases. This includes managing feasibility studies, feasibility design, and detailed design to ensure successful project transition into construction.

Working alongside our Head of Pre-Contract, your primary focus will be supporting the bidding process and contributing to activities such as:

• Managing all designated project work to ensure successful completion in accordance with safety, technical, and legislative policies, as well as adhering to the P6 programme, cost, and quality standards.
• Conducting site visits, attending kick-off meetings, monitoring progress, and providing regular updates to Clancy and the Client.
• Liaising and coordinating with clients, senior management, and stakeholders to meet key programme milestones.
• Executing project execution plans aligned with the proposed delivery strategy.
• Demonstrating leadership and fostering positive behaviors within Clancy and the client, maintaining proactive relationships.
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors involved in the delivery of works, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
• Monitoring and documenting all information gathered during the pre-construction phase and ensuring proper handover to the delivery team.
• Supporting estimating teams with construction programmes, pricing, risk registers, and initial safety documentation.
• Assisting consenting teams with stakeholder management and consent plans.
• Supporting commercial teams to maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle and managing project finances via NEC contracts.

We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:

• Contractual experience, ideally with NEC contracts
• Strong understanding of delivering works, programming, technical knowledge, and initial engagement with subcontractors
• High Voltage and Utilities experience is preferred
• Proven project management experience in pre-construction development and construction projects
• Significant experience managing projects within DNO substations and highways
• Experience with Primavera P6
• Proficiency with Excel data management
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
