Job summary

Rullion Ltd is seeking a Project Manager to lead HV cable and HV plant subcontractors on a National Grid project in the UK. You will act as HV designer, coordinate with MEP designers, and ensure all design deliverables meet programme requirements. You will report progress to the Project Director and Engineering Manager.

The role requires a degree or HNC/HND in engineering, NG project experience, and CDM knowledge. SMSTS and NG competencies are essential.

• Knowledge of CDM requirements.
• National Grid Competent Person & TP/SR 137/141 appointments - Essential.
• SMSTS Qualified.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage HV Cable and HV Plant subcontractors to deliver works per programme and requirements.
• Act as HV designer and ensure deliverables align with project requirements.
• Coordinate HV and MEP designer/sub-contractor activities and deliverables.
• Track and report design input/output to Project Director and Engineering Manager.
• Ensure design deliverables comply with project specification, programme, and commercial requirements.
• Contribute to Integrated Management Plan and project management documentation.

Job title: Project Manager

Salary: £75,000-£80,000 pa + £6000K Car Allowance + Benefits

Location: Portmadog, Wales

Hours of work: 45 Hours Per Week - Site Based 5 Days Per Week

The Role

You will lead and manage the High Voltage (HV) Cable and HV Plant subcontractors ( in delivering the works and ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements. As the the HV designer and sub-contractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed Programme and Project requirements. You will be the technical lead for the HV works on the project. You will ensure both input and output deliverables for the design are tracked and reported to the clients Project Director and Engineering Manager as required.

Lastly you will manage the MEP designer and sub-contractor design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Project requirements.

Main Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Support the Design manager to ensure all HV and MEP design deliverables are timeously provided as per the of design programmes.
• Review Designers Monthly reports and submissions and produce monthly reports on design progress and any other design specific elements.
• Manage and update the design deliverable schedule.
• Review all design deliverables and ensure that they are completed to the expected standard. Challenge and resolve when not, including reviewing of all drawing in line with the Clients Scope/requirements.
• Attend interface meeting with external parties and assign/follow up on actions related to the Design.
• Manage all works, including subcontractors, to ensure compliance with project specification, programme and commercial requirements.
• Work with the Project Team to produce, maintain and manage the project Integrated Management Plan and all associated documentation. Ensure that all other required project management plans for construction phase are produced and approved as required. Ensure all approved documentation is formally issued and briefed to all appropriate persons and organisations.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Degree or HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline.
• Previous experience on National Grid (NG) Projects as an Contractor, preferably on 400kV, 275kV or 132 kV circuits
• Knowledge of CDM requirements
• National Grid Competent Person & TP/SR 137/141 appointments - Essential
• SMSTS Qualified
