Job summary

BUUK Infrastructure, including Power On, is seeking a Project Manager - Heat (PO) to manage District Energy projects safely, on time and to budget, while delivering exceptional customer service. You will lead cross‑functional teams, manage risks and contracts, and report progress to stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

The role supports hybrid working for eligible roles and offers pension contributions, generous holidays, and a referral bonus. A CSCS card and relevant degree are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (or equivalent through extensive experience).
• Current CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the project team including internal and external resources and suppliers.
• Ensure milestones are achieved and the project is completed on time.
• Maintain a high safety culture within the project team.
• Contribute to the development of contracts and drive contract management for successful delivery.
• Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with financial, procurement, legal and management procedures.
• Robustly manage risks, issues, budgets, costs, changes and resource pressures throughout the project life cycle.
• Provide timely progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth transition to Operations & Maintenance.
• Close the project and capture learnings for future projects.

Power On, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Project Manager - Heat (PO) who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

Purpose of this role

The management of District Energy projects ensuring they are undertaken safely, on time, on budget, of satisfactory quality, whilst providing exceptional customer service.

Your Key Responsibilities Are

• Lead and motivate the project team to include internal and external resources, and key suppliers.
• Ensuring that project milestones are achieved, and the project is completed on time.
• Enforce and maintain a high safety culture within the project team.
• To contribute to the development of contracts and drive the contract management and administration required to successfully deliver projects through to completion.
• To ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with the company’s financial, procurement, legal, and management procedures.
• To robustly manage all project risks, issues, opportunities, budgets, and costs throughout the life of the project and manage any change, risk or resource pressure pro-actively and take active responsibility to resolve or elevate as required.
• Effective communication to include timely issue of progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth transition to Operations & Maintenance.
• Close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for your next project.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (or equivalent through extensive experience).
• Current CSCS card

Experience/Knowledge

• Experience of managing District Energy (Construction and Adoption) projects with multiple stakeholders and complex requirements.
• Experience of all stages of project management including the development, implementation, and use of all the necessary controls and processes to ensure successful delivery.
• Commercial awareness and knowledge of project financial management and contract management procedures.
• Experience of managing District Energy (Construction and Adoption) projects with multiple stakeholders and complex requirements.

Abilities/Skills

• Ability in negotiating, influencing and decision making.
• Commercial awareness and knowledge of project financial management and contract management procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to produce reports, presentations and other written material to a very high standard and tailored to different stakeholders.

Desirable

• Professional membership of industry related body or membership of an appropriate professional institution to Chartered Engineering level.
• Project Management Qualification APM or Prince 2.
• Experience of all stages of project management including the development, implementation, and use of all the necessary controls and processes to ensure successful delivery.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
