Project Manager – Pre-Construction (Healthcare Projects)

£80,000 – £90,000 + Package

Tier 1 Main Contractor – London (Office-Based)

A top-tier main contractor is urgently seeking a Project Manager with strong healthcare experience to support ongoing and upcoming tender opportunities. This is a key hire due to a shortage of in-house healthcare PMs and reflects the business’s growing pipeline of complex healthcare work.

You will play a vital role in the pre-construction and bidding phases of major healthcare projects, typically valued around £50M, with a focus on P21/P22 framework schemes.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the technical and logistical planning of tenders for large healthcare schemes.
2. Support bid teams with buildability, sequencing, logistics, and programme input.
3. Coordinate with estimators, planners, and design teams to ensure fully developed and competitive submissions.
4. Attend client interviews and presentations as required.
5. Review and advise on contract conditions (NEC) and risk mitigation strategies.
6. Work closely with framework teams on P21/P22 protocols and NHS trust requirements.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in delivering or tendering healthcare projects in the £30M–£70M+ range.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and healthcare-specific requirements.
• Experience working within P21/P22 frameworks highly advantageous.
• Background with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across internal and client teams.
