Job description

Do you have the leadership skills to drive complex, multi-disciplinary EPC projects from strategy to successful closeout — while owning safety, budgets, and programme performance?

Are you seeking an opportunity to deliver high-value infrastructure projects within a world-class organisation, using your expertise in NEC3/4 and your deep knowledge of UK construction practices?

Do you want to work in a role where your ability to lead teams, manage change, and execute with a “first-time-right” mindset directly shapes the future of critical infrastructure?

If this sounds of interest, then please proceed!

The opportunity

As a key member of the Project Delivery Team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most stimulating and ground-breaking EPC and construction projects in the UK. Professional development of our team is key to our success, and if you join us, you will be given a Personal Development Plan, including training and further education to ensure that you are well-placed to support us in delivering for our clients. Although focused on your project(s), you will be part of the global organisation, which is a 5,000-strong community that offers wider opportunities and the possibility to work internationally if this is your desire.

This can be both Contract or Permanent.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Plan, organise, manage, and ensure closure of projects.
  • Be accountable for project safety, programme, and budgets.
  • Identify the overall project execution strategy; develop and own the project execution plan.
  • Coordinate project resources.
  • Coordinate the project team and third parties.
  • Lead on commercial and change management.
  • Undertake internal client and external monitoring, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Hold the rest of the project team to account for their delivery, motivation, and management of the team.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
  • Extensive experience as a Project Manager, in multi-disciplinary projects, in an EPCM/EPC company, ideally gained within the UK Infrastructure sector.
  • Experience developing project programmes.
  • Good knowledge of construction activities across all disciplines and how these integrate to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Sound practical knowledge and experience of varying phases of engineering and construction projects – including detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Experience and good understanding of working with standard forms of contract, in particular NEC3/4.
  • Results-oriented. You thrive on delivering safely, on-time, and within budgetary constraints.
  • You plan and organise your activities efficiently.
  • You understand the dependencies of activities within the project and between disciplines.
  • You have a ‘first-time-right’ mentality.
  • You are capable of identifying growth opportunities within the company, supporting sales, business management, and contributing to the development of procedures and strategies.
  • You delegate to your team but stay informed about your project and intervene if required.
  • You lead and motivate your team to achieve targets, even in setbacks.
It's great if you also have the following
  • BSc / BEng / MSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
  • Qualification from APM (Association for Project Management).
  • Experience as a Project Manager in highly regulated process industries.
