Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead EPC/EPCM infrastructure projects in the UK. You will define the project execution strategy, develop the execution plan and coordinate resources, teams and third parties to deliver safely, on time and within budget.

You will drive commercial and change management, monitor performance, report forecasts, and hold the project team to account while seeking opportunities to improve procedures and drive growth within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive Project Manager experience on multi-disciplinary EPCM/EPC UK infrastructure projects.
• Experience developing project programmes.
• Strong knowledge of construction activities and cross-disciplinary integration.
• Experience with NEC3/4 contracts.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer; APM qualification.
• Experience in EC&I and/or Automation projects.
• Experience in highly regulated process industries.

Responsibilities

Be accountable for project safety, programme and budgets; identify the overall project execution strategy; develop and own the project execution plan. Be responsible for coordinating project resources. Coordinate the project team and third‑parties. Lead on commercial and change management. Undertake internal BUK and external monitoring, reporting and forecasting. Holding the rest of the project team to account for their delivery, motivation and management of team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive experience as a Project Manager, in multi‑disciplinary projects, in an EPCM / EPC company, ideally gained within the UK Infrastructure sector.
• Experience developing project programmes.
• Good knowledge of construction activities across all disciplines and how these integrate to ensure successful project delivery.
• Sound practical knowledge and experience of varying phases of engineering and construction projects, including: detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning.
• Experience and good understanding of working with standard forms of contract, in particular NEC3/4.
• Results oriented. You thrive on delivery safely, on‑time and within budgetary constraints.
• You plan and organise your activities efficiently. You understand the dependencies of the activities within the project, but also the dependencies between other disciplines.
• You have a 'first time right' mentality.
• You are capable of identifying growth opportunities within the company, offering support to sales, business management and contributing towards the development of company procedures and strategies.
• You delegate to your team, but at the same time you know exactly what is going on in your project, and intervene if required.
• You lead and motivate your team ensuring that they achieve the targets, also in case of setbacks.
• Preferred, BSc / BEng / MSc or Equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline.
• Demonstratable experience working on EC&I and/or Automation projects.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.
• Qualification from APM (Association for Project Management).
• Experience as a Project Manager in the highly regulated process industries.
