About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes is a new Business Unit committed to supporting positive change and shaping the future of Nuclear Power. Operational across the UK and continental Europe, we are expanding our team on various nuclear projects at different stages of development, involving diverse technologies. We seek talented individuals excited about nuclear projects, committed to Net Zero and Energy Security.

We deliver major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle, aiming for safe, high-quality, timely solutions through innovation and collaboration.

Amentum is recruiting Project Managers for the Sizewell C Project, focusing on engineering delivery by the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) and the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing of key contracts. The primary goal is to advance engineering and secure the supply chain to de-risk the Final Investment Decision (FID), replicating the Hinkley Point C detailed design. Key responsibilities include:

  • Timely delivery of engineering studies by the RD or key contractors, ensuring they meet project needs.
  • Preparing specific post-FID contracts, including terms & conditions, contractual appendices, and technical specifications.
  • Implementing site-specific design changes into deliverables and contracts to enable robust pricing.
  • Managing internal and external interfaces to ensure coordinated design and delivery.
  • Engaging early with stakeholders to identify obsolescence issues and other risks.
  • Managing technical aspects of procurement for specific contracts.
  • Practicing lessons learned and knowledge capture regularly.
  • Developing strategies and plans aligned with the overall programme execution plan (PEP).
  • Defining work scope and interfaces within the programme.
  • Driving contract or package activities to ensure safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and technical compliance.
  • Ensuring contractual requirements are fulfilled.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to prepare manufacturing and construction contracts.
Here’s What You’ll Need
  • A degree and Chartered status in Project Management, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Project Management, construction activities, and management experience in complex projects.
  • Experience managing major projects from concept to handover, ensuring safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Proven success coordinating multidisciplinary design and procurement teams to deliver on time.
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
