The project:

Mace has a strong track record in the education sector, working with schools, colleges, local authorities, and central government to deliver innovative, sustainable, and flexible learning environments. We are a leading consultant for the Department for Education (DfE), delivering across their principal capital programmes, including school rebuilding, free schools, special educational needs, colleges, and institutes of technology.

We seek project managers eager to advance their careers within a high-performing team, managing a diverse portfolio of projects such as new builds, refurbishments, remodels, and carbon reduction schemes. Our integrated services include design, cost, information management, sustainability, and health and safety, providing clients with a comprehensive end-to-end solution with a single point of accountability.

This role is a client-side secondment working closely with DfE colleagues, responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling DfE capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are viable, sustainable, safe, timely, within budget, and meet quality standards.

We promote an agile working approach, with duties performed remotely and at Mace offices. Occasional travel to project sites and offices is expected. The roles are flexible, supporting full or part-time work.

Projects include infrastructure and fabric remediation for laboratory and research facilities.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline; working towards membership of RICS, CIOB, or APM preferred.
  • Experience in contract administration, especially NEC contracts.
  • Proven experience managing complex public sector projects.
  • Digitally savvy, relationship builder, team player.
  • Experience in consultancy environments, eager to grow.
