What will you be doing?

ALTEN is a global engineering consultancy with 55,000 professionals across 30 countries. We deliver high-end engineering expertise to some of the UK's most recognised names, including JLR, Rolls Royce and Airbus. Our consultants support clients across automotive, aerospace, defence, and energy sectors to solve complex technical challenges.

We are currently looking for a Project Engineer with experience in drivetrain components to join a leading project based in Coventry.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of projects involving drivetrain components (e.g. EDU, crankshaft, axles, etc).
• Liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Manage timelines, technical input, risks and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical oversight while working collaboratively across engineering teams.

Who are we looking for?

• Hands-on experience working with drivetrain components - such as Electric Drive Units (EDU), crankshafts, axles, gearboxes, etc.
• Proven project management experience in a technical engineering environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• Strong understanding of drivetrain components such as transmissions, axles, propshafts, or eDrive systems
• Proven experience in automotive project engineering from concept to production
• Ability to manage technical requirements, BOMs, DVPs, and supplier interfaces
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder reporting
