The Opportunity
Are you seeking a rewarding career at the forefront of project development, where you can make a significant impact? Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the UK's most exciting and largest megaprojects, contributing to the nation's climate change goals and energy policy.
Following the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and government financing support. Construction has commenced, and the project is seeking private investment. Upon completion, it will supply reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting Britain’s goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Nuclear Islands team at Sizewell C, one of Europe's most significant infrastructure projects. As Project Manager, you will report to the Senior Area Project Manager and lead delivery teams to ensure the successful completion of construction activities related to Sizewell C Diesel Buildings.
The Role
You will lead the Diesels Multi-Disciplinary Area Team, including schedulers, cost/quality managers, engineers, civil construction, and MEH (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC) fitout, working closely with Tier 1 supply chain contractors. You will collaborate with supply chain managers, diesel contract project managers, commissioning, site operations, and regulatory stakeholders. Your responsibilities include developing an integrated, constructable schedule to mitigate risks to on-site construction and installation activities, managing issues, identifying risks, and escalating critical matters as needed.
You will develop effective delivery strategies to address cost and schedule challenges, aligning with Sizewell C’s 'best for Project' approach. Your focus will be on medium-term planning to ensure continuous progress, including sequencing, managing contractor interfaces, and cross-project collaboration for alignment.
You will also promote continuous improvement by embedding lessons learned from our sister project, Hinkley Point C, into daily operations.
What you'll bring
If you have experience in Construction Design Management (CDM), civil construction/engineering, or mechanical, electrical, systems engineering for large industrial projects, and are skilled in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
A career with us involves embracing challenges and advancing sustainable energy. You should be working towards or hold a Chartered Engineer qualification or a formal project management certification. More importantly, if you are positive, passionate, ambitious, and ready to lead, we want to hear from you.
Join us and help transform the future of nuclear power!
If this sounds like you, we look forward to your application. A full job description is available upon request.
