Job summary

Matchtech Group in Manchester seeks a Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering design projects in the water sector, guiding them from planning to delivery and working closely with engineers, clients and supply chain partners.

The role requires experience in project/design management, strong programme and cost control skills, and the ability to lead small teams while managing NEC/contractual aspects. A degree or HND in engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management or design management within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Experience managing or contributing to engineering design projects.
• Strong understanding of project programmes, cost control and project delivery.
• Ability to lead small teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Understanding of commercial and contractual principles, including NEC and fixed-price contracts.
• Experience working within the UK water industry would be advantageous.
• Degree or HND in engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary water design projects from inception through to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Develop, update and manage project programmes, reporting progress, risks and performance to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal design teams, clients and external supply chain partners.
• Manage and administer NEC and other contractual requirements.
• Manage project change, variations and commercial considerations.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support the preparation of tenders and proposals.
• Lead, support and develop Assistant Project Managers and other junior team members.
