Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering design projects within the water sector. You will oversee delivery from inception to completion, coordinating engineers, clients and supply chain partners to achieve on-time, on-budget outcomes.

You should have proven design project experience, strong knowledge of programmes, cost control and NEC/fixed-price contracts, and the ability to guide junior team members while maintaining excellent client

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering design projects in water.
• Strong ability to plan programmes, control costs and deliver to schedule.
• Familiarity with NEC and fixed-price contracting principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multidisciplinary water design projects from inception through to completion

• Manage contractual requirements including NEC and variations

Job description

Our client is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering design projects within the water sector. This permanent opportunity is suited to someone with design project experience who can manage projects from planning and coordination through to successful delivery, while working closely with engineers, clients and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary water design projects from inception through to completion
• Ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards
• Develop, update and manage project programmes, reporting progress, risks and performance to senior stakeholders
• Coordinate internal design teams, clients and external supply chain partners
• Manage and administer NEC and other contractual requirements
• Manage project change, variations and commercial considerations
• Maintain strong client relationships and support the preparation of tenders and proposals
• Lead, support and develop Assistant Project Managers and other junior team members

Job Requirements:

• Experience in project management or design management within a multidisciplinary engineering environment
• Essential experience managing or contributing to engineering design projects
• Strong understanding of project programmes, cost control and project delivery
• Ability to lead small teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively
• Understanding of commercial and contractual principles, including NEC and fixed-price contracts
• Experience working within the UK water industry would be advantageous
• Degree or HND in engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial
