Work with a well-established and reputable civil contractor on large-scale demolition projects in the Bowen Basin and other locations. Can be FIFO or DIDO. Other sectors include earthwork, excavation, piling, retention, foundations, etc.

Our client is a well-established and market leading civil contractor looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Manager - Demolition to join their growing business.

Our client provides services across various industry sectors such as building, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, and environmental. You will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of challenging projects.

Types of projects include demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation, and rehabilitation. Typical values range from $2.5m to $10m but can go up to $20m.

This role is for a project based on-site in the Bowen Basin area. The candidate will either live locally or DIDO (drive in, drive out) or FIFO (fly in, fly out) on a roster basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Working on tenders
  • Planning and scheduling of construction activities
  • Management of site project teams
  • Quality Assurance, Cost and Time Management
  • Preparation of management reports
  • Resolving site issues in a timely manner
  • Liaising with key clients and stakeholders
  • Coordinating internal and external resources
  • Recruitment and mentoring of teams

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
  • 7 – 15+ years’ management experience on demolition and civil construction projects with a project value of $5m to $20m+
  • Project management qualifications will be advantageous
  • Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and delegate
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations
  • High level of organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
