ResponsibilitiesThis is an exciting opportunity to join our Project Management Team, working with the latest cutting-edge technologies at the forefront of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry. The role is based out of the laboratory testing facilities located at Segensworth in Fareham. The core market sectors are focused upon Defence, Aerospace and Rail applications.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing client and business expectations during test and certification projects to ensure they meet contractual deliverables and timescales, with costs within budget. The testing will focus on components used in transport applications, including laboratory environmental testing, mechanical shock, vibration, packaging testing, defence and civil EMC testing, battery testing, radio frequency, product safety, and SAR testing services.
You will ensure the final test report is delivered correctly and promptly to support clients' qualification programs. The role requires a candidate who is highly organized, team-oriented, with a strong customer focus, and able to work well in a collaborative environment.
Your experience may come from the testing industry directly or through product qualification engagement with external Test House suppliers or in-house testing capabilities within the core market sectors.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:- Act as the principal intermediary between the client and testing facilities from project start to finish.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget, maintaining profit margins and resolving issues affecting profitability.
- Manage client expectations and provide detailed project plans to track progress.
- Coordinate with test supervisors to ensure timely delivery of test samples and documentation, facilitating smooth workflow and problem-solving.
- Manage projects to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of contractual deliverables, enabling prompt invoicing.
- Maintain accurate project forecasts using business project management tools.
- Ensure full compliance with business tools and processes.
- Coordinate internal resources, subcontractors, third-party vendors, and equipment hire to schedule projects effectively.
- Visit clients as required.
- Handle administrative tasks related to project delivery.
Essential Criteria:- Knowledge of laboratory-based product testing or industry experience in product qualification.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Proven ability to deliver projects, plan contingencies, and seek improvements.
- Strong understanding of customer needs and perspectives to enhance customer experience.
- Understanding of financial issues and commercial fundamentals, including profit drivers.
- Ability to balance technical judgment with commercial awareness.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and business tools.
- Team player with a positive attitude, proactive in change and self-development.
- Excellent communicator in writing and verbally.
