Job summary

Apatura Ltd in Edinburgh is seeking a proactive Project Manager to move complex energy and infrastructure projects forward. You will coordinate across teams and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery, within budget, and high safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong communication, structured delivery, and budgeting experience, with formal project management qualifications preferred. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Edinburgh with hybrid working (3 days in the

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, ideally within data centres, energy, infrastructure or construction.
  • Familiarity with energy infrastructure development or grid connection processes is beneficial.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and best practice.
  • Knowledge of the UK electricity sector (Ofgem, NESO, DNOs/TOs) is beneficial but not essential.
  • APM qualification preferred; degree is advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across teams and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Manage projects from early site assessment through consent and readiness for construction.
  • Coordinate feasibility work, including site selection, design, and cable routes.
  • Support securing land rights and engaging with landowners and stakeholders.
  • Lead on planning application processes and manage supporting documentation.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver design and technical outputs.
  • Coordinate with grid, power and connection stakeholders to support data centre and energy infrastructure delivery.
  • Track project progress, timelines, and costs, ensuring projects stay on plan.
  • Manage suppliers and consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and procurement activities.
  • Lead project meetings, track actions, and provide regular progress updates.

About the role

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative Project Manager who can confidently drive projects forward while working across a wide range of stakeholders.

You’ll bring:
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A structured approach to project delivery, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and adapt as challenges arise
  • Experience managing costs, budgets, and project risks to keep delivery on track
  • Confidence in working with internal teams and external partners to achieve high-quality outcomes
Experience and knowledge:
  • Previous experience in project management, ideally within data centres, energy, infrastructure or construction
  • Familiarity with energy infrastructure development or grid connection processes is beneficial
  • An understanding of project management methodologies and best practice
  • Knowledge of the UK electricity sector (e.g. Ofgem, NESO, DNOs/TOs) is beneficial but not essential
Qualifications:
  • Project management qualification (e.g. APM) is preferred
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Project Management) is advantageous, but not essential
