Overview
This is a hands-on role for a consulting-savvy Project Manager to run small, high-impact delivery teams across data and AI engagements. You will own day-to-day delivery, commercials, and client cadence for 3-5 person teams, ensuring projects land on time, on budget, and to scope while nurturing long-term client relationships. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 3-5 years of project management experience in a consulting environment who is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys getting close to the work, and is commercially sharp.
Responsibilities
- Plan and run end-to-end delivery for 3-5 person teams across discovery, build, and rollout
- Own the delivery operating rhythm in Agile ways of working (SCRUM and SAFE): standups, sprint planning, backlog, RAID, demos, and retros
- Maintain integrated plans, critical paths, and risk/issue logs with clear mitigation and owners
- Manage scope and change control, keeping stakeholders aligned and documentation current
- Build and manage budgets, burn, and margin; provide weekly status and financial reporting
- Track time and expenses, validate invoicing, and maintain forecast accuracy
- Draft, review, and negotiate SOWs and change orders with clear deliverables, assumptions, and acceptance criteria
- Run client ceremonies and steerco updates with crisp narratives and clear decisions
- Translate business goals into delivery outcomes and non-technical language everyone understands
- Manage dependencies across client teams, vendors, and internal squads
- Create clarity of priorities, unblock the team, and set quality bars for deliverables
- Coach consultants and engineers on delivery hygiene and consulting fundamentals
- Foster a culture of accountability, pace, and continuous improvement
Skills and Experience Profile
- 4-5 years of project management in a consulting or services environment delivering tech or data projects
- Proven experience managing 3-5 person cross-functional teams to time, cost, and scope
- Strong grasp of project accounting: budgets, burn, margin, invoicing, and forecasting
- Confident drafting SOWs and change requests with clear scope, deliverables, and acceptance criteria
- Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management up to senior leaders
- Curious about data and AI in a business context and able to connect use cases to value
- Comfortable in a startup consultancy: autonomous, practical, and bias to action
- Exposure to data platforms, analytics, MLOps, or AI product delivery
- Experience with agile delivery in services contexts and hybrid governance
- Familiarity with common tooling: Azure DevOps or Linear, Notion, Miro/Mural, GSuite or O365
Additional Information
- Basic Salary Range: £75k - £80k (+Bens +Bonus)
- Location: London based, with travel to client site as required
- Start date: ASAP
