Job description

Project Manager, Control Systems (Portland, Victoria)

Working hours : Monday – Friday Office hours

Location : Portland, Victoria

Project : Alcoa Portland Alumina Smelter Project

Duration : 12-months initial casual contract

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide end-to-end project leadership from project initiation to closure, including managing resourcing, scope deviations and issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams (i.e. Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation and OHSE teams);
  • Manage project dependencies and risks, ensuring alignment with agreed baselines for scope, schedule and budget;
  • Present accurate project status updates, including financial performance, risk mitigation strategies and issue resolution plans, to internal and client-facing stakeholders;
  • Monitor and report project financials, tracking actuals and forecasts for budget and profitability.

KEY REQUIREMENTS :

  • A recognized degree in the relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Extensive Engineering experience in Mining, Minerals, or Metals in Australia.
  • Controls Systems Design
  • HMI Programming (CITECT, Factory Talk, Wonderware).
  • Only candidates with full working rights (AU, PR, Valid Working Visa) will be considered.
