Job Description
- A commercial builder with a portfolio of projects across the country – a mix of third-party builds as well as their own developments.
- Projects include commercial, industrial, and retail sectors – warehousing, large-format retail, selected commercial developments, and government projects locally.
- Project Manager role: report to the Construction Manager and oversee projects from inception to completion.
- Contracts Administrator role: work closely with an existing Project Manager, assisting in financial management and general coordination of projects both in office and on-site as required.
Your Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects—on time, within budget, and to specifications. You should be proactive, an effective communicator (especially with clients and subcontractors), and confident in leading teams. Your key duties include:
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams.
- Drive scheduling, procurement, and budgeting processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
As a Contracts Administrator, you will ensure the smooth operation of project contracts—handling variations, procurement, and compliance. You will also support the site delivery team with coordination duties from head office and on-site as needed. Your key duties include:
- Administer head contracts and subcontracts.
- Manage RFIs, claims, variations, and procurement processes.
- Support the Project Manager with financial reporting and documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders such as architects, superintendents, and regulatory authorities.
Experience / Qualifications / Salary
For the Project Manager role:
- Proven track record in delivering commercial construction projects within a head contract environment (Design & Construct experience is highly regarded).
- Strong understanding of project financials.
- Proficiency with project management software and reporting tools.
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or equivalent.
- Salary range: $190k-$230k, depending on experience.
For the Contracts Administrator role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or similar, with proven experience as a CA or PC within the Australian commercial construction sector.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, strong financial acumen, and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills for liaising with subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Salary range: $100k-$130k, depending on experience.
