Jacob Bros is now hiring Project Managers (civil construction) for projects throughout the lower mainland.

Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrates strong understanding of construction industry and business operations, including cost management processes and reports, construction specifications and methods, contract language, and project planning and schedules.
  2. Provides leadership for company Safety and Quality Programs and monitors safety performance of project team and subcontractors.
  3. Develops and maintains excellent working stakeholder relationships with clients, engineering design teams, and field staff to plan, execute and problem solve.
  4. Communicates openly and effectively with all stakeholders to ensure project scope, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.
  5. Represents Jacob Bros to the public in a manner that is consistent with company values and goals.
  6. Demonstrates strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, drawings, standards, specifications, health & safety, quality.
  7. Develops and maintains construction schedule; ensures overall schedule and work are completed on time.
  8. Collaborates with Superintendents to plan, schedule and organize material and equipment deliveries and ensure accurate inventory tracking.
  9. Demonstrates strong understanding of contract documents (MMCD & CCDC).
  10. Strong user of project control software applications, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Project Suite, ProCore, Sage or similar.
  11. Leverages expert understanding of project management fundamentals to manage all contractual obligations, project milestones, subcontract administration, costs and schedules for complete project cycle.
Qualifications:
  1. Meets all goals and objectives for project performance as related to project controls cost management, schedule, quality and project status by providing overall direction and leadership to the project team.
  2. Negotiates successfully and represents all project matters on behalf of the company.
  3. Oversees project start-up activities, pre-commissioning or commissioning, and overall project closeout.
  4. Manages project document control and construction submittals (e.g. Traffic Plans, Site Safety Plans, Quality Control Plans, change orders, RFIs, shop drawings, etc.).
  5. Inspects job site to ensure construction is performed in compliance to all specifications; takes action to correct deficiencies expediently.
  6. Inspects subcontractor work to ensure compliance with design, quality and schedule.
