Job description

Project Manager
Projects: Education, Commercial, Refurbishment & New Build

Ridgeway & Co are working with a Luton-based main contractor, in their search for an experienced Project Manager (up to Contracts Manager) to join their close-knit team and lead the delivery of education-focused refurbishment and new build projects across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and North London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic contractor with a reputation for quality and repeat business, offering genuine career progression and direct reporting to the company Director.

Role Overview

  • Oversee full project lifecycle from pre-construction through delivery to handover

  • Lead day-to-day site operations and coordinate project teams and subcontractors

  • Maintain project programmes, budgets and quality standards

  • Report progress, risks and commercial matters directly to the Director

  • Act as key point of contact for clients, consultants, site teams and supply chain

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards

  • Chair site meetings and manage project documentation

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering education sector projects (schools, academies, colleges or universities)

  • Track record managing refurbishment, extensions and/or new build schemes up to 5m+

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Confident working directly with directors and clients

  • Commercially aware with a practical understanding of cost, programme and quality control

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects safely and to programme

  • SMSTS and First Aid (essential)

  • Full UK driving licence
