Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in the construction industry (building fabric, building services, and minor works) to join our Project Teams delivering construction projects across various public and private sector contracts in the Midlands area, England.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of projects in the most cost-effective manner, demonstrating ‘value for money’ across Mitie's portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will identify and procure the services of specialist designers and contractors as required to successfully deliver their allocated projects. It will be the Project Manager's responsibility to manage compliance with Mitie and client-approved project delivery methodology, governance, and gateway approvals. Additionally, the Project Manager will take ownership of health and safety on projects, ensuring effective management through consultation and liaison with the Principal Designer and execution of Principal Contractor duties. They will also monitor and control all changes during a project’s lifecycle, in accordance with the relevant contract requirements.

The position is mainly mobile, covering the Midlands area, with occasional travel to sites across the UK. The successful candidate will need to undertake security BPSS clearance prior to starting and obtain Security Clearance (SC level and NPPV level 2).

What we are looking for:

  • A proven track record of project development and delivery, with demonstrable experience in pre-construction and construction phases, and managing multiple projects.
  • Preferably degree qualified in surveying or a construction-related discipline.
  • Membership of a construction-related institute such as RICS, CIOB, RIBA, CIBSE, MIET, or APM is preferable.
  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification is preferred but not essential.
