Job Description

We're seeking a Project Manager - Civil/Structural to manage the main facilities contractors for civils and steelwork. The Package Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of the packages from procurement, through readiness, construction, and commissioning.

Costain is procuring, managing, and administering the Facilities Contracts on behalf of bp. This role involves overseeing the packages for civils and steelwork, ensuring their successful delivery.

Scope includes:

• Support structures for the above-ground pipeline
• New pipebridges
• Existing pipebridge strengthening
• Civils and steelwork for AGIs
• Major culvert at Bluemain
• HV civils route, including buried duct route with two HV support bridges (one over the Network Rail)

Responsibilities

• Act as the appointed Project/Package Manager and main contact for Facilities contractors.
• Monitor engineering progress and ensure outputs are produced on time for procurement.
• Support procurement of Facilities contractors.
• Chair monthly progress meetings and oversee reporting.
• Oversee contracts, monitor performance, and support successful delivery.
• Coordinate with commercial, planning, and project controls teams for contract administration.
• Work closely with construction teams to ensure safe, timely delivery, and coordination with other contracts.
• Collaborate with HSE and quality teams to meet contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Manager on an energy project.
• Understanding of engineering, construction principles, and best practices.
• Experience managing civils and steelwork sub-contracts.
• Sub-contract administration skills.
• Proven team leadership and motivation abilities.
• Ability to build positive supply chain relationships.
• Experience managing change, technical issues, costs, and schedules.
• Risk management experience.
• Experience procuring sub-contractors.
• Strong communication skills.
• Practical, logical, and methodical working approach.
• FEED and EPCm experience on onshore brownfield pipeline projects in the UK.
