Job description
Project Manager – Business Operating Model Transformation

On behalf of a valued client who operates within the insurance industry, I am seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major business operating model transformation initiative, transitioning their organisation from a traditional waterfall delivery model to a product-centric, Agile operating model.

This is a pivotal contract role that will work directly with senior stakeholders, including ExCo members and the Head of Product, to successfully drive organisational change. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in both Waterfall and Agile delivery models, proven experience managing large-scale transformation programs, and the ability to bridge the gap between business strategy and technology execution.

The organisation is happy to offer the role as predominantly remote based, however you will be expected to travel to their London and Surrey offices regularly and when required for workshops and collaboration purposes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the transformation project, delivering a new product-centric operating model.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement across business, technology, and executive leadership to gain buy-in and alignment.
  • Plan, organize, and run workshops to define requirements, operating model changes, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Manage and track project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID).
  • Ensure effective change management, helping teams transition from waterfall to Agile ways of working.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the Head of Product and other senior stakeholders, providing clear reporting and updates on progress.
  • Oversee budget, forecasting, and financial tracking to ensure delivery within agreed parameters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, technology, operations) to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.
  • Measure and report on success metrics for the transformation program.
Experience/Skills required:
  • Extensive experience in Project/Program management within a financial services environment.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale operating model or Agile transformations.
  • Strong expertise in both traditional waterfall and Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, or similar).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to engage and influence executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and drive consensus across diverse teams.
  • Strong risk management, planning, and governance skills.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical teams, understanding implications for both.
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Results-driven, resilient, and able to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

London/Surrey (generous remote working options), £650 per day (outside IR35)
