This is an exciting opportunity to lead diverse projects, nurture talent, and contribute to our continued success. Reporting to the Regional Director, Andy Scott, you will have the opportunity to drive the project management function within the region, embedding processes and best practice as you go. The role brings real opportunity of advancement for the right person.

As a Project Manager at Stantec, you'll be at the heart of our project delivery, working hand-in-hand with our technical teams and commercial leads to ensure outstanding results for our clients. You'll be responsible for the successful execution of multiple multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring they meet health, safety, and contractual obligations, while being delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role goes beyond project delivery. You'll also play a crucial part in managing people, fostering collaboration across disciplines, mentoring team members, and strategically allocating resources. Your contributions to business development initiatives will be key to building strong client relationships and securing future work.

Your role will involve some of the following key deliverables:

Project Delivery: Lead and manage multi-disciplinary projects from planning to closeout, ensuring profitability, adherence to schedules, and compliance with technical and quality standards. You'll be the main client contact where required, manage change control, and champion health and safety best practices.

Team Management & Development: Coordinate project resources, support financial processes, and play a vital role in mentoring and developing staff, particularly early career professionals, to foster project management best practice.

Business Development: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, playing a key role in coordinating project bids (including cost, scope, and contractual arrangements), and engaging in networking events.

Professional Growth: Continuously expand your project management expertise, maintain chartered status, and contribute to internal initiatives that shape organisational best practices.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field and chartered status (or working towards) from a professional body (e.g., Engineering or Project Management Institution) and ideally have the following:

A strong understanding of project work programmes and a proven commitment to delivering agreed plans to high standards and deadlines.

A customer-focused approach with a clear understanding of client expectations and the ability to respond appropriately.

Excellent knowledge of project change control procedures and the ability to effectively manage significant changes.

The ability to work independently, manage workloads with minimal supervision, and consistently maintain high standards.

Demonstrated experience in making positive contributions to team direction and supporting team success.

Punctual, attentive, and competent in adhering to client policies, procedures, and working practices.

Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to identify, assess, evaluate, and solve problems effectively.

A commitment to continuous professional development, particularly in project management skills.

Desirable: An appropriate project management qualification, such as APMP.
