Job description

About The Role

Due to continued growth in the Northwest region, TSA Riley is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to strengthen our project management team.

We have 2 offices in the region, located in central Manchester and Bolton respectively. The successful candidate could potentially work out of either office to suit their convenience.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful and expanding project management team, working with a diverse range of clients on projects spanning the breadth of the built environment.

The role offers great opportunities for career development within a growing business, as well as the opportunity to gain exposure in delivering a variety of services to our clients. Typically you will gain exposure to pre-construction, development management and delivery stage PM services as part of your role.

Applications are welcomed from candidates who have built a strong foundation of project management experience within a consultancy or client-facing environment, gained exposure to a variety of projects across multiple sectors of the built environment and who are looking to further develop their career within a well-established and growing consultancy.

At TSA Riley, being people-focused is central to how the organisation operates. Team members are supported with the training, resources, and collaborative environment needed to succeed, grow professionally, and build a rewarding career.

About Your Responsibilities

Our Project Managers manage the delivery of projects, including scope, budget, safety and programme while coordinating inputs from consultants, contractors, and internal and external stakeholders. They play an essential role in ensuring quality and performance throughout the project lifecycle and supporting strong client outcomes. The work is varied, and you'll contribute by:

  • Taking ownership of planning, procurement, coordination, and consultant inputs to ensure quality delivery.
  • Leading meetings, site coordination, and project documentation across assigned workstreams.
  • Monitoring programme and cost performance, identifying deviations, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Tracking project risks, opportunities, and commercial factors, and escalating issues when required.
  • Resolving conflicts, addressing challenges, and mitigating delays to keep projects on track.
  • Preparing project reports, updates, and records using TSA Riley systems and templates.
  • Maintaining clear, responsive communication with clients and delivery partners.
  • Managing client expectations to support satisfaction and build strong, trusted relationships.
  • Collaborating with project teams to support performance, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Managing project risk, safety, and compliance practices in line with TSA Riley standards.
  • Contributing to proposals, sector initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
About You
  • Several years of post-qualification experience delivering construction related projects in a client-side or consulting environment. We regret that this role is NOT suitable for Project Managers looking to transition from other industries such as IT, marketing or finance.
  • A tertiary qualification in a field relevant to shaping or delivering projects in the built environment, such as 'Construction Project Management' or similar.
  • Project management experience within the built environment. Exposure to the management of projects within the residential, retail, commercial, healthcare, leisure and/or industrial sectors (or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end project lifecycles, including procurement, design coordination, delivery, and contract administration.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to work across sectors, secondments, and different delivery contexts (public and private).
  • Proficiency with digital tools to support reporting, tracking, and documentation.
  • Known reputation for high-quality work, and collaborative and a collaborative, effective working style.
  • Brings critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support effective project delivery.
  • Experience working in agile environments and contributing to cross-functional teams.
