The post holder reports to the Programme Manager of Children's Social Work and is responsible for undertaking activities that contribute to the successful completion of Shetland's Bairns' Hoose project. The post involves leading the development of local implementation of the Scottish Bairns' Hoose Standards, as well as conducting research and analysis to support service development and improvements based on coproduction principles.
This position is funded by the Scottish Government's Bairns' Hoose Development Fund, which supports partnerships in designing local approaches to implement the Bairns' Hoose Standards. These standards aim to enhance the experiences of children, young people, and families in child protection. Bairns' Hoose is Scotland's version of the Icelandic Barnahus, providing holistic, child-centred support for victims or witnesses of abuse and children under the age of criminal responsibility whose behaviour has caused harm.
Bairns' Hoose emphasizes connecting services around the child's needs through cross-agency collaboration, prioritizing trauma-informed practice to support recovery in a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
Applicants must provide the names of two non-related references during the application process.
