Job summary

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital and infrastructure projects across the Council's marine estate, including piers, harbours and ferry infrastructure.

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital and infrastructure projects across the Council's marine estate.

Working on a range of marine assets, including piers, harbours, ferry infrastructure and associated facilities, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial concept through design, procurement and construction, ensuring successful delivery against programme, budget and quality objectives.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines technical understanding, stakeholder engagement and project leadership. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, consultants, contractors, operators and external partners to deliver projects that support essential marine services, improve infrastructure resilience and contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of communities across Argyll and Bute.

The successful candidate will be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and navigating complex technical, financial and operational challenges. Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective partnerships and maintain a focus on achieving positive outcomes for service users and communities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of significant investment programmes and marine infrastructure improvements within one of Scotland's most diverse and geographically distinctive local authority areas.

The interview will take the form of a 10 minute presentation where you will demonstrate your suitability for the role, followed by a Q&A session.
