Overview
The Accounting Project and Integration Manager is a newly created position within the team, driven by the pipeline of acquisitions. You will conduct due diligence, establish rapport with the new acquisitions, and supervise the integration of client money and new systems. Your expertise will ensure detailed transitions and successful integrations, contributing to the growth and success of our organization. As a senior team member, you will also assist with other tasks within the wider team as needed. Additionally, you will collaborate with other business functions to identify solutions for remediating rule breaches raised by auditors or business partners. Working with these functions to implement process and control improvements, as well as providing audit evidence for CASS audits of acquisitions, will be ongoing aspects of the role.
How you'll make an impact
- Preparation of Client Money Due Diligence report for review by the Head of Accounting Integration & Projects & Chief Accounting Officer.
- Preparing agendas for calls with vendors to understand existing functions and processes.
- Evaluating datarooms to gather relevant information and identify gaps.
- Conducting gap analysis of acquired firm’s client money controls.
- Reviewing documents circulated by other project workstreams (Legal) to identify risks to the Accounting workstream and providing feedback.
- Collaborating with the client money team and newly acquired finance team to ensure effective transfer of processes.
- Working with the runoff team to ensure timely and compliant balance run-down in accordance with CASS rules.
- Updating the Senior Client Money Manager on project status weekly for escalation.
- Leading CASS audits for the acquired company.
- Assisting with ad hoc queries and acting as a subject matter expert within the team.
- Ensuring complete and accurate records of calculations for compliance.
- Liaising with internal teams to stay updated on business changes impacting calculations.
- Engaging with internal and external audit teams.
- Building effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Supporting the development of robust Client Money control systems within Finance.
- Assisting in automation and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintaining awareness of FCA responsibilities and ensuring compliance.
- Serving as the point of contact for client money queries.
- Participating in ad-hoc projects as needed.
About You
- ACCA/CA/CIMA qualified accountant.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in Financial Services management; insurance experience is a plus.
- Flexible and adaptable to multiple tasks and environments.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills in all formats.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Focus, initiative, and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to meet deadlines and challenge yourself and others.
