Location – Banwell

Purpose of the role: As Project Manager, you will successfully deliver projects on time, within budget, and to client specifications.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create a ‘Knowingly Safe’ working environment.
  • Ensure principles of CDM are applied and relevant legislations are complied with.
  • Embed a Culture.
  • Engage with the designer to ensure a safe, buildable, and timely design within the detailed design phase to facilitate efficient delivery.
  • Plan, prepare, and facilitate collaborative workshops as required.
  • Interview, select, and onboard staff aligned with the resource profile for the Scheme.
  • With the support of the Commercial Team, ensure the selection of the best Supply Chain partners.
  • Ensure all pre-commencement and regulatory requirements are met before work begins.
  • Plan and prepare for the delivery of the Scheme throughout its lifecycle.
  • Appoint a Temporary Works Coordinator and ensure Temporary Works requirements are understood and designed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the establishment of site offices and compounds.
  • Champion innovative technologies and techniques.
  • Manage risks and opportunities with the Risk Manager.
  • Lead the Commercial Team to manage costs, cash flow, and profitability, capturing scope changes.
  • Investigate and learn from incidents/accidents.
  • Ensure quality and standards of work are met.
  • Manage Construction Teams and Supply Chain partners to deliver in line with Budget, Programme, and Scope.
  • Ensure resource availability, including demobilisation and redeployment at project end.
  • Engage with the Performance Team for CPF/BSC scoring and reporting.
  • Monitor and review team performance, providing encouragement and discipline as needed.

Person Specification – to effectively undertake this role you will need the following:

  • Promote a positive safety, quality, and FREDIE culture.
  • Proven experience managing multiple teams and fostering their professional development.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering to client expectations.
  • Ability to develop a performance culture.
  • Advanced communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Good understanding of NEC contracts and commercial awareness.
  • Proven leadership and delegation skills.

Technical / Professional Qualifications Required

  • Prince or APM certification.
  • HNC/Degree qualification.
