Purpose of Role
We’re looking for an organised, confident, and capable Project Manager to lead a high-profile Fire Door Replacement and Remedial Programme valued at approximately £10 million. The programme is significant to our client and will be delivered across multiple Defence sites, with a major focus on RAF Brize Norton.
Reporting into a Senior Project Manager, you’ll will be responsible for the planning, management, coordination, and financial control of projects, ensuring the appropriate governance is applied. You will be supported by both Commercial and Project PMO.
Job Description
This role is ideal for an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Assistant Facilities Manager looking to step into a more senior position. You’ll be managing multiple workstreams, coordinating with various points of contact, and ensuring compliance, quality, and timelines are maintained throughout.
Responsibilities
• Lead the planning and delivery of the fire door replacement and remedial works programme across RAF Brize Norton and other Defence bases in the South East.
• Manage a busy project inbox, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders and efficient tracking of actions and updates.
• Act as the main point of contact for all parties involved, including client reps, site teams, contractors, and internal departments.
• Oversee compliance with safety standards, regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation such as trackers, progress reports, meeting minutes, risk logs, and commercial summaries.
• Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) to manage communications, reporting, and scheduling.
• Support commercial teams with cost tracking, forecasting, and managing variations.
• Conduct regular site visits and chair stakeholder meetings to drive progress and resolve issues proactively.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
• Background in project delivery, ideally within FM, construction, or defence sectors.
• Experience in fire compliance or remedial works is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills—especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Confident managing competing priorities and working in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment.
• A proactive approach with high attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
• SC & BPSS clearance (or willingness to undergo vetting).
