The role supports a hybrid delivery model that blends Agile and traditional waterfall methodologies.

You will lead multiple project workstreams, line manage a team, and ensure changes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

  • Must have proven ability to deliver change within financial services, ideally banking or lending.
  • Strong experience delivering using Agile, release trains, and waterfall methodologies.
  • Certifications such as PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum Master, or SAFe are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of change initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Plan and execute projects using Agile, release trains, or waterfall methodologies.
  • Maintain governance, RAID management, reporting and audit readiness.
  • Ensure all projects meet internal controls, documentation standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Act as primary contact for stakeholders and technology partners.
  • Provide clear reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Facilitate workshops, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage dependencies and alignment across teams and initiatives.
  • Lead delivery within horizontal capabilities such as CRM, Core Banking, customer journeys, AI, QA, or portfolio management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring regulatory requirements and operational resilience.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Track delivery performance, cost and benefit realisation.
  • Oversee third-party suppliers to ensure delivery against scope, time and quality.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and delivery-focused Project Manager to join their Change function, supporting high-impact transformation initiatives. This role is based in either Guernsey or Jersey and is permanent and full-time. The Project Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Change, leading multiple project workstreams while line managing a team. This position is instrumental in ensuring that changes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with regulatory requirements, facilitating the organisation's modernisation and scalability to enhance both customer and colleague experiences.The successful candidate will drive the delivery of change across key areas such as Risk, Regulatory, Optimisation & Growth, or Finance. Additionally, the role encompasses leadership in horizontal capabilities including Technology (such as CRM or Core Banking), Change Prioritisation, Artificial Intelligence, and Quality Assurance within a hybrid delivery model that integrates Agile and traditional waterfall methodologies.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of change initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Plan and execute projects using Agile, release train, or waterfall methodologies.
  • Maintain strong governance, including RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) management, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure all projects meet internal controls, documentation standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Act as the primary contact for stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and technology partners.
  • Provide clear and concise reporting to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Facilitate workshops, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage dependencies and ensure alignment across multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Lead delivery within assigned horizontal capabilities, managing initiatives in areas such as CRM enhancements, Core Banking upgrades, customer journey redesign, portfolio planning, AI-enabled automation, and strengthening quality assurance processes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks proactively while ensuring that all change activities meet regulatory requirements and operational resilience expectations.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Track delivery performance, cost, and benefit realisation.
  • Oversee third-party suppliers to ensure delivery against agreed scope, time, and quality standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven experience delivering change within financial services, ideally in banking or lending.
  • Strong project management expertise across Agile, release trains, and waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience in at least one key delivery pillar: Risk, Regulatory, Optimisation & Growth, or Finance.
  • Proficiency in at least one horizontal capability such as CRM, Core Banking, Customer Journeys, AI, QA, or portfolio management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior-level reporting.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum Master, or SAFe would be advantageous.
  • Experience within offshore banking or the UK/Channel Islands regulatory landscape is preferred.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, automation, or data-led change is desirable.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and technology partners would be beneficial.
