The challenge
The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. We’re responsible for regulating health and safety on nuclear sites, nuclear security, safeguards, and the transport of radioactive materials. It’s a fast-moving world, and right now, our Programme Management Office is driving a major transformational change in ONR-named Synergy– something you can be a vital part of.
The role
As part of our dedicated team, you’ll manage a range of projects day-to-day within the Synergy Programme., We are part of the biggest business transformation programme in the public sector in a generation. That means you need to be adaptable and ready to take on projects in line with business needs. The programme is reaching a critical stage where we are in design and looking specifically at HR, Finance, Commercial and Service Engagement policies and processes and aligning them across the Synergy cluster. Whatever the project, you’ll see that it’s delivered on time, to budget and to the highest standards, working closely with stakeholders. You will be managing complex projects or supporting senior project managers – either way, a can-do approach is vital.
The person
Highly proactive, you’ll bring proven expertise. Whatever your background, you’ll be well versed in project management methods, tools and techniques. You will have a recognised project management qualification, and you can further develop your skills at ONR with our full support. However, you’ll first need to show us that you’re highly collaborative, with the communication skills to influence and lead. Experience of change management techniques, tech project management and business analysis would be an advantage. More important are resilience, energy, proactivity and determination.
The rewards
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £45,048 - £54,405plus a recruitment allowance of £1,000 and an additional £4,194 London Weighting Allowance if applicable. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits), and generous holiday entitlement.
