Job description

Thames Water are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented business Project Manager to join our Change & Product function on a 13 – 18 month Fixed Term Contract. In this role you will be taking the lead on our Debt Management transformation project. This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional skills in stakeholder management, delivering results in a fast-paced environment, and applying creative problem-solving to tackle complex challenges. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved successfully.

What you will be doing as the Project Manager

As part of the Change & Product Management function, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing governance and project management. They will coordinate and support diverse teams, establishing robust structures for project delivery, demand management, and value tracking to ensure effective governance and outstanding outcomes. This is a strategically critical project for our debt management plan. Its successful delivery will be pivotal to achieving our organisational objectives and will have significant impact on cash collection.

Duties to include but not limited to:
  1. Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of your projects, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.
  2. Stakeholder Management: Identify and engage with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Process and Data Analysis: Collaborate with the Data & MI team to analyse pain points and gather insights to inform project decisions.
  4. Creative Problem Solving: Develop innovative solutions to address customer pain points and improve processes.
  5. Governance and Reporting: Establish project governance, including meeting cadence, progress documentation, and regular reporting to senior leadership.
  6. Communication: Develop and implement a communications plan to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged.
  7. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all project activities comply with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
What you should bring to the role
  • Proven experience in significant delivery programmes, managing budgets typically of £3m-£12m size
  • Proven experience in a significant change programme within a collection's environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver projects at pace.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding and experience of debt management processes is desirable.
Base Location:

Hybrid - Walnut Court - SN2 8BN (3 days in the office per week, 2 working from home)

Hours:

36 hours per week Monday to Friday
