JOB: Project Manager

LOCATION: Southampton

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: GBP 45,000 - GBP 55,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures specialist solutions for Engineering. They are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a technical background to join their team in the Southampton area on a permanent basis.

The Project Manager Will Ideally Have The Following Attributes:

1. 3 or more years of Project Management experience
2. Hold PRINCE2 or a similar Project Management qualification
3. An educational or hands-on background in Mechanical Engineering
4. Ability to read engineering drawings and understand CAD
5. A background in Construction, Installation, Instrumentation or similar industries would be beneficial
6. Strong client-facing experience
7. Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver results on time and budget
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
9. Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Project Manager Role Will Involve:

1. Identifying and managing full lifecycle projects, from bid generation to manufacture and delivery
2. Successfully delivering projects on time and on budget
3. Organising the supply chain
4. Producing detailed works schedules, resource and projects plans
5. Liaising with clients as required keeping them up to date with project progress
6. Working with design, purchasing and production departments
7. Presenting project plans and reports to management
8. Reporting progress, managing risks and responding to issues
9. Maintaining technical documentation as required
10. Working in a small, multidisciplined team
11. Communicating new concepts to other departments within the company as well as internal stakeholders
12. Delivering and driving projects within the company
13. Driving for progression and growth of the business
