We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Project Manager to join our Southampton office. Initially, you will work with the preconstruction team on large framework tenders in the region, including projects in higher education, secondary education, and defence sectors across Hampshire. Typical project values range from £30m to over £70m.
Reporting to the Construction Director and collaborating closely with the Preconstruction team, your responsibilities will include:
Once on site, you will oversee the successful delivery of the construction phase, including planning, programming, methodology, leadership, health and safety, quality control, procurement input, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and ensuring project completion on time, within budget, and to specifications.
Experience in delivering new build education or defence schemes with a Tier 1 main contractor from preconstruction through to completion is highly desirable.
This role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager seeking to expand their understanding of the bid and preconstruction phases while leveraging their site-based project delivery experience.
The role is with a busy regional office of a national main contractor group, with a turnover exceeding £150m. The company has secured projects in secondary and higher education, defence, commercial, leisure, and healthcare sectors within Hampshire and Dorset. As a Tier 1 contractor, adherence to company processes, health and safety, quality assurance, and effective coordination are essential.
Projects typically range from £30m to over £70m, with some larger schemes up to £40m in these sectors. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager looking to work regionally and develop into a Senior Project Manager role.
Applicants should have a proven track record within an established main contracting organization, demonstrating the ability to deliver Design & Build schemes up to £25m+. Key attributes include excellent client, design team, and site team management, technical, contractual, and commercial knowledge, along with focus and drive.
